The Imperial Hotel Tenby’s newly unveiled menu at Essence offers a refined yet approachable dining experience that celebrates the best of Welsh coastal cuisine. Set against the backdrop of South Beach, the menu showcases locally sourced ingredients and inventive culinary techniques.

Starters include traditional Welsh cawl with a Caerphilly cheese and leek scone, Pembrokeshire crab & cockles with lemon espuma, and a vibrant whipped Welsh goat’s cheese on beetroot crostini. For a taste of the sea, the Tenby Bay Basket offers a generous selection of lobster tail, crayfish, tiger prawns, and more, served with black garlic aioli and thermidor dips.

Main courses feature standout dishes like Welsh lamb prepared two ways, a hearty Pembrokeshire broth brimming with monkfish, mussels, and scallops, and a classic Welsh Beef Wellington. Seafood lovers can opt for the herb-crusted pave of sea trout or the pulled crab and lobster pappardelle. Vegetarian and vegan options are thoughtfully crafted, including a mushroom and tarragon suet pudding and a Korean crispy Tofu stir fry.

Grill selections boast the turf and tail—a combination of an 8oz ribeye and lobster tail—alongside classic burgers and a 10oz ribeye steak, all served with proper chips and a choice of sauces.

Desserts offer a sweet conclusion with options like the chocolate brownie bomb, strawberry daiquiri sorbet, and a traditional Crempog with Welsh whisky cream. A curated Welsh cheese selection provides a savoury end to the meal.
