The Imperial Hotel in Tenby is unveiling the first of its beautifully refurbished bedrooms, as part of a major renovation project from the Crest Hotels Group.
This cherished, Grade II listed hotel, built within the ancient town walls with breathtaking views of South Beach, has offered an unbeatable hotel location in Tenby for over 120 years.
Once the refurbishments are completed, guests can look forward to experiencing the best of both worlds – the charm of the 19th century combined with the luxuries of modern design – creating an unforgettable and luxurious seaside escape.
The Imperial Hotel was acquired by Crest Hotels Group in 2024, a family-owned business based in Bristol that own and operate nine unique hotels across the UK. This affiliation highlights Crest’s dedication to building long-lasting relationships and earning the trust of guests through its family-run values.

“We’re thrilled to open our doors and finally share the stunning transformation of the Imperial’s new bedrooms with guests. Our incredible refurbishment offers families a luxurious and unforgettable West Wales escape in an idyllic beachfront location with so much to explore nearby,” says Jason Hiley, Managing Director of Crest Hotels Group.
“This is just the beginning of our exciting project – a luxurious spa and exceptional new dining experiences are coming soon. As part of the Crest family, the hotel is committed to offering a personalised approach while maintaining the highest levels of professionalism.”
The redesign for Imperial’s 59 bedrooms is inspired by the tranquil colours of the sea and features cool blues and greens creating a serene and contemporary atmosphere. Many rooms will offer ocean views, while all guests will enjoy luxurious Sleepeezee beds, high-speed internet, invigorating power showers, and refreshing air conditioning.
The Imperial Hotel’s transformation is continuing throughout the Spring. A luxurious new spa and wellness area will open soon, as well as a vibrant new restaurant and dining experience.
The dog-friendly Imperial Hotel is the perfect base for families to explore Tenby and the dazzling Pembrokeshire coastline, renowned for its award-winning natural beauty.
Tenby is celebrated as one of Wales’s most beautiful seaside towns, renowned for its stunning beaches, picturesque harbours, and dramatic cliffs.
